Priyanka Chopra has opened up about an “inhuman moment” she experienced on a previous film set during a new interview with The Zoe Project published Tuesday.
The Citadel actress, 40, who recently stunned in a scarlet ensemble at the Bulgari Party in Venice, was discussing her career in Bollywood and her departure from the industry as she recalled a disturbing experience.
“This could have been 2002 or 2003,” she said, explaining that she was cast to play the role of an undercover cop in the project.
The mother of one of them added: ‘I’m undercover, I’m seducing the man – obviously that’s what girls do when they’re undercover. But I seduce the man and you have to take off one piece of clothing (at a time).’
Chopra then revealed, “I wanted to layer. The filmmaker was like, “No, I need to see her underwear. Why else is anyone coming to see this movie?”

The star explained to the outlet, “He didn’t tell me. He told the stylist in front of me. It was such an inhumane moment.
“It was a sense of, ‘I’m nothing but how I can be used, my art isn’t important, what I contribute isn’t important,'” she continued.
Just two days after the incident, Priyanka revealed that she had left the movie. However, at the insistence of her father, the actress compensated for the production out of her own pocket to make up for the money already spent.
She stated that the main reason for walking off the project was because she “couldn’t look at him every day,” referring to the director.
Chopra spoke about her departure from Bollywood earlier this year in March while appearing on Dan Shepherd’s Armchair Expert podcast.
The Miss World 2000 winner said: ‘I was pushed into the corner of the industry. I had people who didn’t cast me for reasons. I had beef with people. I’m not good at playing that game so I was a bit tired of politics and I said I needed a break.”
Her passion for music gave her the ‘opportunity’ to move to America. “This music thing gave me the chance to go to another part of the world, not crave the movies I didn’t want, but I should smoosh certain clubs and cliques of people.”
“It would require crawling and I had been working for a long time by then that I didn’t feel like I wanted to do it. So when this music thing came along, I was like, “F**k it, I’m going to America.”‘

However, speaking to The Zoe Report, Priyanka explained that her music career didn’t last long. “I just felt like I sounded manufactured, it wasn’t coming from a real authentic place. That’s the best music, that’s the music I like to listen to.’
Despite finding hardships when she first moved to America and found her own foothold in the industry, the star started landing acting roles in Hollywood such as the hit series Quantico, which aired on ABC from 2015 to 2019.
In 2018, she tied the night with Nick Jonas, and the couple welcomed their daughter, Malti, via surrogate in January 2022. Their baby girl initially spent 100 days in the NICU, but was able to go home shortly before Mother’s Day.

The former Bollywood star gushed that they both support each other and hard workers. “We are con artists, we are not afraid to work hard, we are not afraid to turn around. I am someone who wants to learn something I don’t know. And Nick too.’
While speaking to Grazia earlier this month, Priyanka also opened up about her career so far, but admitted that she doesn’t consider herself to have “made it.”
‘My work is extremely volatile. I may be canceled tomorrow, people may decide I’m not the flavor of the month. I’ve never been one to think I made it.”
She added, “There were so many times I wanted to quit. I was tired of the rejection. I felt rejected and patronized on set, like people didn’t believe I could do my job, even though Bollywood is as big as it is.’

‘Hustlers’: While talking about her marriage to Nick Jonas, Priyanka said, ‘We’re hustlers, we’re not afraid of hard work, we’re not afraid to turn around. I am someone who wants to learn something I don’t know. And that also applies to Nick’; the pair seen in April in Rome

The espionage thriller series was officially renewed by Amazon for a second season on Thursday, Deadline reports. The beauty also jumped into the romantic genre, starring in Love Again with Outlander actor Sam Heughan.
Regarding future roles she wants to take on, the mother of one of them admitted, “I hope to find roles that allow me to lose myself and really become my character, because that’s what I do.”
Her husband, Nick, is also busy and about to embark on The Jonas Brothers tour with siblings Joe and Kevin, which kicks off later this summer in August.
