The boss of a crocodile farm dies after being ‘pounced’ by 40 of his own animals

Forty crocodiles killed a Cambodian farmer today as he tried to wrangle one of his reptiles.

“The crocodiles attacked him until he was dead,” Mey Savry – police chief of the Siem Reap municipality, where the man’s farm was located – told Viral Press of the freak accident.

The 72-year-old victim, named Luan Nam, reportedly entered the enclosure to retrieve one of the crocodiles from a cage where it had laid eggs.

Things took a disastrous turn after the beast “attacked the stick” he used to propel him, “causing him to fall into the enclosure,” according to Savry.

Suddenly, the reptile herder was waylaid by dozens of animals, who ripped his body to shreds and left the paddock awash in blood.

Accompanying photos show the animals paddling through a pool of Nam’s blood, and video shows officials removing his remains from the area.

According to the police chief, Nam’s corpse was riddled with bite marks and he reportedly lost both arms and a leg, which the crocodiles had swallowed during the feeding frenzy.

His mutilated body was later transported to the family home.

Nam, who also chaired the local crocodile farmers’ association, was reportedly pushed for years to quit the business, CBS reported.

In a similar horrific incident in 2019, a 2-year-old Cambodian girl was eaten alive after falling into a crocodile pit on her family farm.
